Phase 1, Post 9: Moving Transportation and Technology Away from Ableism - Sketch

The following sketch is a technology I believe would make transportation, especially mass transit more convenient for a wide range of salient identities. The sketch depicts an entrance to a train station, with scanning technology for MetroCards. The idea behind this is that from my experience, I've realized the inconvenience of swiping a MetroCard and noticed how it may be an issue to the disabled and elderly. The swipe requires a specific speed and coordination which can become difficult for certain people. Replacing the swiping mechanism with card reading sensors will not only speed up the process but will avoid those issues altogether.
